Oh yeah, these came in the other day. It’s our new EP written and recorded for the Alberta Biennial—four new songs about art in Alberta! It’s a limited edition (only 100!)—they will be individually signed and numbered.
Come to Timeland at the AGA and see what else we have cooked up!
As you can see from this map*, we will be mostly concentrated in Alberta and Saskatchewan for the next few months.
Here is a list of dates:
May 28, 2010 – Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton: Alberta Biennial 2010: Timeland opening reception. We have works in the show and will be doing a short performance of our new songs(!) for the opening. 8PM on the Terrace.
June 19, 2010 – PAVEDarts, Saskatoon: One night concert with Paul Atkins and friends. 7PM.
August 27, 2010 – Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton: Alberta Biennial closing. Concert on the Terrace.
*Note: this infographic is not a verifiably accurate representation of our summer activities but is in fact a modified map of salinity risk index based on 1991 land use in the Canadian prairies.
Exciting times! We made the long list for the Sobey Art Award this year!
Now we are one step closer to the sort of fame that will go to each of our heads, causing our egos to inflate to the point where we decide to break up the band to pursue solo careers because of ‘creative differences’ only to find that our solo projects never reach the same level of success as the original band, resulting in each of us spiralling into drug addiction and guest judging on reality television game shows wherein, after a decade or two of off and on stays in famous rehab centres, when we finally get clean and have some sort of enlightened religious awakening and want to ‘do right’ by the fans who have supported us all this time—we decide to get the band back together and do a reunion tour. None but a few have ever escaped this fate (ie. Justin Timberlake). Exciting!
PS. If you haven’t heard it yet, we have our Sobey Art Award song (2009 version) on our Facebook page: link
We’re in the Alberta Biennial this year at the new Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton. It is called Timeland and it runs from May 29 to August 29. We will have new works and new songs! We will be doing a short performance on opening night! And also a longer performance for the closing in August.
